Our next Fall 2023 speaker in the AAS New Directions in Black Studies Speaker Series is Dr. Abosede George, the Tow Associate Professor of History and Africana Studies at Barnard College. Dr. George's research is focused on the histories of Lagos, Nigeria and West Africa. She is author of many works, including her award-winning book Making Modern Girls: A History of Girlhood, Labor, and Social Development (Ohio State University Press).
