Getting it Done: Maximizing Your Summer Writing Time Friday, May 20, 2022, 12 – 1:30pm |
Location:Graduate Center - Jeffery and Marsha Gibeling Conference Room Event Type:Workshops and Training Audience Type:Students: Graduate and Professional Many of us hope that summer will be an extremely productive time in which we'll finally catch up on our work or make significant progress on our ongoing projects. However, the realities of summer responsibilities, as well as the often unrealistic expectations we have for summer, often prevent our summer goals from becoming reality. In this workshop, we'll discuss ways to address and overcome blocks to our writing that prevent a productive summer. We'll also learn ways to set realistic goals and strategize effective ways to meet them. Workshop participants will learn how to engage in a writing process that takes the agony out of composing, organize a writing group, give effective feedback to writing partners, and create a plan of action for meeting our summer goals. Sponsored by the University Writing Program and the GradPathways Institute for Professional Development (Graduate Studies). |
