Speaker: Andrea Bräutigam, Ph.D, Bielefeld University

Andrea Bräutigam is a W2 Professor for Computational Biology at Bielefeld University. She holds a Master Equivalent (diploma) of Biology from University of Cologne, Germany and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Genetics from Michigan State University, USA. Her research interests are gene regulatory networks and transcription factor binding (crops, Arabidopsis thaliana, liverworts, algae); regulation of photosynthesis in adverse conditions; systems biology analyses and synthetic reconstruction of valuable traits in orthogonal systems (i.e. C4 and CAM photosynthesis). In the past, she was awarded FESPB Young Scientist Award, Freiburg, Germany, July 2012 and Sigma Xi Outstanding Graduate Student Award, USA, 2008
