Incorporating More Writing in your Teaching
Event Type:Workshops and Training
Audience Type:Students: Graduate and Professional

For UC Davis graduate students and postdocs only.  Online Event.

One of the best ways to help students learn is to have them write. Yet, the idea of incorporating more writing into a course curriculum can be challenging. This workshop will walk you through strategies for designing new writing prompts and assignments for your classes. We will also discuss how add writing to your course without significantly increasing your workload.

Instructor: Kathie Gossett received her PhD in Writing Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She has been teaching writing at both the undergraduate and graduate level for over 25 years and has also spent many of those years assisting faculty design writing-intensive courses across the disciplines. She is currently a lecturer in the University Writing Program where she also works as the Assistant Director of Graduate Writing Services here at UC Davis.

Sponsored by the University Writing Program: Writing Across the Curriculum Program and the GradPathways Institute for Professional Development.
