Organic vegetable and strawberry production on the Central Coast faces many challenges in soil fertility. This short course pulls together research on soil fertility management for organic vegetable and strawberry production for growers and consultants to understand and manage nitrogen and phosphorus.

Tuesday, February 12, 2019; 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Agricultural Center Conference Room at 1432 Abbott Street, Salinas.

Session topics address nitrogen for crop growth, soil amendments, dry organic fertilizers, liquid organic fertilizers in drip irrigation systems, phosphorus nutrition, soil microbes in plant nutrition, nitrate in irrigation water, and the impact of cover crops on nitrogen nutrition.

Registration: $70 before January 30, 2019 and $90 thereafter. Includes lunch, snacks, and handout materials. Class size is limited, so enroll early.
