“The Mark of Shame: Understanding Mental Illness Stigma”

Stephen Hinshaw, who presented the first webinar in this series, returns to offer further insights into the causes and costs of mental health stigma — specifically addressing the stubborn persistence of stigma despite advancements in our understanding of, and treatment options for, mental illness. Hinshaw is a professor of psychology at UC Berkeley and of psychiatry at UCSF. All UC faculty and staff are invited to attend the webinar, which is part of UC’s effort to raise awareness about mental health issues and reduce barriers to treatment. This is Stigma-Free UC’s fifth webinar. Videos of the other four are available here, and a video of the Oct. 3 webinar will be posted in the same place.

Join the webinar here. To join by phone, call 669-900-6833 (Meeting ID 510 987 9443).
