The  Department of Economics hosts this year's North American Meeting of the Econometric Society. The four-day meeting includes three named lectures:

  • Walras-Bowley Lecture — Xavier Vives, University of Navarra
  • Cowles Lecture — Ellen McGrattan, University of Minnesota and Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis
  • University of California Lecture — Susan Athey, Stanford University
This year's Walras-Bowley Lecture will be delivered in memory of Martine Quinzii (pictured), a UC Davis professor emerita and former chair of economics, who died May 25 in Perigueux, France, after a long illness.
