Stairwell Project Campaign Kick-Off Thursday, May 17, 2018, 12 – 2pm
Stairwell Project Campaign Kick-Off
Campus Location:Memorial Union
Location of Event:UC Davis Campus
Event Type:Health and Wellness, Special Events
Presented by:Healthy Campus Network

The campaign positions “point of decision” prompts at strategic elevator banks encouraging students, faculty, staff, and visitors to use the stairs instead of the elevator. As part of our initiative, we are having a kick-off event with a social media campaign too. There will be give-aways and fun games. In general, it is meant to get students/staff to actively want to take the stairs rather than the elevator.

Why? Because research shows that using the stairs for even just a few minutes a day can save you time and have important health benefits like reducing your risk of heart attack and stroke. For those that are able, choosing to take the stairs instead of the elevator is a simple way to integrate healthy movement into your day. Sometimes all it takes is a simple reminder that a free workout is just around the corner!

The “Take the Stairs” campaign has engaged numerous stakeholders on campus to ensure that our messaging supports a positive culture shift towards a healthier campus!
