Dr. Shai Silberberg is a Program Director and Director of Research Quality at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) where he oversees a portfolio of extramural awards, leads the Institute’s efforts to increase the excellence of science and the completeness of research reporting.

He also performs research at the bench in the intramural program at NINDS. Dr. Silberberg will discuss the role of a program official in the NIH grant and fellowship system, tips for effective interfacing with the different aspects of the application, review, and award steps. He will also discuss his career as a Program Director and intramural scientist, and more recently as Director of Research Quality.
