Paul Knoepfler, Professor; UC Davis Genome Center

The Knoepfler Lab uses cutting edge molecular, cellular and developmental biology methods as well as genomic and gene editing technologies to answer key open questions in the study of changes in organisms caused by modification of gene expression rather than alteration of the genetic code itself. The lab is particularly interested in the roles of three factors normally in stem cells  How do these factors link the epigenome to cellular behaviors and tissue growth?

The lab's big picture goal is to impact human health through novel discoveries that catalyze new treatments for cancer and advances in translational stem cell biology.

Bring a brown bag lunch at 11:30; coffee, tea and cookies provided. Program begins at noon. Retirees: Be sure to use your RT parking permit. No pre-registration is necessary
