Imagining America National Conference
Location of Event:UC Davis Campus
Event Type:Conferences and Symposia
Presented by:Imagining America and UC Davis

UC Davis hosts the 17th national conference of Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life. The conference call for participation states: “We are in a period of pervasive polarization, in which fundamental issues of equity and inclusion are at stake. This extraordinary moment calls for an extraordinary vision of the future.” The conference theme is C.A.L.L. [Communities. Arts. Lands. Learning.] — inviting participants to challenge inequities, and work together toward envisioning and co-creating our future. The conference is a space where publicly engaged artists, designers, scholars, students and culture workers will come together for a three-day immersive experience to learn from one another about how the arts, humanities and design are being leveraged locally, regionally and nationally toward transformative action.

Imagining America, headquartered at UC Davis as of this summer, is a national consortium of university and cultural partners who advance public scholarship, community building and democratic practices through the arts, humanities and design.

The conference schedule includes workshops, roundtables and media presentations, and site-specific programs in Davis and the greater Sacramento area.
