The purpose of SEA Grad is to honor the experiences of Southeast Asian (Iu Mien, Hmong, Vietnamese, Khmer, Laos, etc) graduates throughout their college careers. The number of SEA students in higher education is disproportionate compared to the number of SEA students, particularly in California and especially those in Sacramento. This event offers a more intimate and personal space to celebrate our graduates and their successes than regular commencements. It is an opportunity for families and friends to come share this moment of triumph with our graduates. Through SEA Grad, we hope to inspire and motivate underclassmen who will hopefully, one day, walk the same stage. SEA Grad is not only a space to commemorate our graduates but also serves to celebrate the importance of higher education.
